Next Artist Showcase: Michelle McAfee and Frankie Hernandez Thursday, June 27 from 8-10pm at Fiori D'Italia in the Quonset hut Michelle McAfee is a Folk/Pop Songstress with a rich, honest voice and a knack for weaving stories into unforgettable melodies. Frankie Hernandez is a soul, funk, latin, reggae singer-songwriter committed to the empowerment and elevation of the human spirit and condition through music. This is Michelle’s 4th summer touring Alaska, currently in support of her new album ‘Float’ recorded in Portland, Oregon (2013). She has opened shows for The Indigo Girls, G Love & Special Sauce, Jewel and has written & performed music for the film “Kissed By Lightening” (directed by Shelley Niro). Michelle is also a co-creator of the Artist Collective "One Soul" which takes music & art into prisons. Frankie’s music has been featured on MTV's hit show "The Real World" as well as public and commercial television and radio from the West Coast to Austin, TX. He has shared the stage and recorded with Ziggy Marley, Michael Franti, Seal, Outlawz, and Rod Stewart.

The Anchorage Music Co-Op is a collective of independent musicians trying to provide new opportunities for local musicians at each level of experience. What's New for 2013 We have a new location at Fiori D'Italia (formerly The Garden of Eatin') 2502 McRae, in the heart of Spenard. This Quonset hut is attached to Fiori D'Italia. Acoustics in this unique room are phenomenal and provide an incredible ambiance for listening to the best musicians Anchorage has to offer. Artist Showcase: Shows start at 7pm or 8pm. (check schedule page). This is a listening room so we encourage well...listening... and taking conversations outside. We know you won't want to miss these great performances. Under 21 Open Mic: Monthly on the last Friday of the month at the Middle Way Cafe. Open mic goes from 5:00-7:00pm (ish). Show up or sign up in advance by emailing us at anchoragemusiccoop@gmail.com.
